Seems like no matter what the fed or the government does, more people are moving their money out of stocks. When will the slide end?

I am hoping soon as the market has been on a steady decline for the past few days/weeks.

Not good at all :/

Thanks

Well it seems to be moving up now. That is a good sign!

I believe the bottom will be reached by mid-November and the recession, which we are now officially in, will be short lived. We'll be back on our way again by Q3 2009.

I will have to agree with this post...We are getting back on our feet (very slow). Lets hope that maybe after the election we bounce back. The recession that we are in now I hope does not last any longer

This is a great thread and should bring other questions.

For example:

1. Are designers willing to lower the cost of design to keep up with the market?

2. Does any one think that if the recession does continue... will that push people to try to sale online? (thus more people getting websites) to make up for the money loss.

3. Do web host owners lower the price of hosting?

Steve Forbes said this morning that the recession will be over in 6 months, which affirms my previous comment that we will be back on our way by Q3 2009.

My thoughts:
1. Are designers willing to lower the cost of design to keep up with the market?

Yes, if they need more business.

2. Does any one think that if the recession does continue... will that push people to try to sale online? (thus more people getting websites) to make up for the money loss.

Yes, because selling online is typically less expensive than brick and mortar stores, provided you can get your website store open without much cost. There are some inexpensive ways to do this today.

3. Do web host owners lower the price of hosting?

Some may need to raise their prices to say in business with the credit crunch, others may lower their prices if they can to be more competitive. I saw a complaint on another forum that SaidHost.com is going out of business. It looks like their prices were too low.

Good responses to my questions. I have been debating our prices back and forth for some time now.

As for the "saidhost" I find that strange (I did see a forum post about that via google search). Things do not look good for them and one would think that they would have listed something on the company website, news section or even the press section...by not doing something like that in my book is just some bad business all around.

Not only does it look as if the clients are going to take a hit but I also notice they offer some re-seller packages...So how many more folks on that end are going to take a hit? who knows maybe they will work something out and transfer folks over to places like GoDaddy or something.

In my book I consider it as "no shame" if a company goes under as long as they tried their best (that is pretty much all any person can do in this market) but a company needs to be upfront and honest with clients and come clean or at least if it is not true they should follow up with some damage control or something.

Right now I feel our market is in the "wait and see" gear. We can only sit back and see what takes place after the election. Did anyone watch the Obama thing last night?

Let’s just hope whoever is voted in they protect the small business owner as I feel it is going to be the small business that is going to pull us out of this mess. Small business owners have the drive vs. the large places who are already making the billions upon billions.

Good discussion about hosting pricing, so I'm going to start a new thread to continue this discussion.
