Pingdom, a service that monitors websites and servers on the Internet, has released an

iPhone application that webmasters can use to quickly access their monitoring information.

Pingdom has released a free iPhone application that can be used with its uptime monitoring

service. The Pingdom iPhone application lets webmasters connect to Pingdom and view the

current status of the monitoring they have set up.

The application is meant as a useful companion for webmasters and system administrators.

When they receive a problem alert from Pingdom (via email or SMS), indicating an error with

their website or servers, they can quickly examine the current status directly from an iPhone

to get an overview of the situation even if they are not in the office.

The application allows customization of which of the monitored websites and servers are

shown and also lets users view more information about how each is monitored.

Features:

• View the current status (up or down) of all monitored websites and servers.

• See the uptime and response time statistics for the last 30 days for each website and

server.

• Customize the list of shown websites and servers.

• Get information about each monitored item, such as its monitoring resolution, check

type (HTTP, Ping, DNS, SNMP, IMAP, POP, TCP port, etc) and target (IP address or

URL).

The only requirement for the application is to have a Pingdom account. You can learn more

about the Pingdom uptime monitoring service at www.pingdom.com.
